The Statistical Office in Łódź presents the publication "Physical education in Łódzkie Voivodship in year 2010-2016" presenting the information collected by public statistic on such an important area of life as sport and recreation in its various forms.
The publication contains the basic characteristics of several aspects of physical culture in the voivodship, such as the activity of sports clubs and selected physical education organisations, regarding both professional and popular sports, characteristics of existing sports facilities and sports activities of children and youth in schools.
The publication consists of 3 chapters presenting data with an analytical commentary. The first one is devoted to the activity of sports clubs - sports sections, persons practising sports and coaching staff. The second chapter deals with sports facilities in Łódzkie Voivodship and occupancy rate of facility for the purpose of sport and recreation. The third chapter presents data from the education system about students in sports schools and sports extracurricular training.
In the tabular part, data are presented mostly refer to the voivodship level and include years 2010-2016, for which the research was conducted. The basic information is presented on maps and charts and in the form of relative measures enabling comparisons also at the level of powiats.
