The year 2018 marks the 100 anniversary of the establishment of Statistics Poland. On this occasion the Statistical Office in Lodz prepared the "Statistical Atlas of Łódzkie Voivodship" presenting different aspects of the socio-economic life in the region.

This publication, by charts, cartodiagrams and cartograms, where equal interval metod has been used, presents issues related to human capital, quality of life, economy and environment by gminas and powiats as well as on the background of other voivodships. Selected data are also presented for regions of the European Union. The publication’s character enables the observation of the regional differentiation which is the most important element of the cohesion policy.

Presented statistical information relates to the 2016 year, for regional accounts data – to 2015. In order to illustrate changes taking place in Łódzkie Voivodship selected issues was presented dynamically since 2010. The eleboration contains also the projection of population until 2040.

The main source of data used in the publication are information resources of official statistics, while comparisons between EU regions are based on the Eurostat database. In addition, the data of the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, the Energy Regulatory Office, the Police Main Headquarter, the Regional Examination Board, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy and the General Directorate of Roads and Motorways were used.
